VERMICOMPOSTING
Vermicomposting is a natural process whereby earthworms convert waste materials with rigid structures into compost. The compost produced in this green process is traditionally and popularly used as a natural fertilizer for enhancing plant growth. DR. S. K. SINHA WOMEN'S COLLEGE has separate vermicomposting unit which is under the maintenance of Department of Botany and Zoology. This process of vermicomposting is very useful for the students as a part of their project works and skill enhancement courses. The compost produced in this unit is also useful for maintaining the plant growth of college campus.Regular arrangement of training programmes on vermicomposting by the college for students, faculty members and local farmers are very fruitful as in future they can also set up the same in their remote local areas thus helping in better agricultural output.
